ARAMCO TEAM SERIES INITIATIVES

The Driving Force Powered by Aramco, inaugurated at ATS New York, 2021, was founded to showcase that golf can be so much more than 18 holes and has given a platform for people to show what they have been doing to break down barriers to participation within golf. In New York, Clemmie Perry was able to tell her story behind the Girls on the Green Tee charity and how it uses golf to provide young girls valuable leadership skills and a place to gain self-esteem. Troy Mullins, a well-known former college golfer and long drive contestant also took part in The Driving Force alongside street golfer, Tiger Hood. The involvement of these two figures and the playing of street golf in New York was used to highlight that an expensive set of clubs and pristine golf course should not stand in the way of someone participating in some form of golf.

Further to the Girls on the Green Tee, other charities have been given the platform to show their effort and services, namely The Girls Network at ATS London.

Through more initiatives in 2022 and beyond, the events will continue to give difference-makers the chance to show how they are impacting women on and off the golf course.

INSPIRING A NEW GENERATION OF WOMEN

Female empowerment, breaking down barriers and reducing inequality sit at the heart of the Aramco Team Series and whilst the quality of the events and the investment into the LET from Aramco speak for themselves in this context, the events go above and beyond to tell these stories.

Aligning with Aramco’s diversity and inclusion programme and Golf Saudi’s push for increased female participation in the sport through the Ladies First Club, the events have been a great platform to grow the game of golf among women. Hosting new members and clinics for Saudi females at ATS Sotogrande 2021, the Aramco Team Series has played a role in the push of the Ladies First Club which has seen over 1000 women take up golf in Saudi Arabia.
