Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz maintains her slender lead at the Aramco Team Series Florida presented by PIF, at five-under-par, and is level par through 14 holes of her second round at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach, which was not completed due to darkness.

Iturrioz leads by one over Scotswoman Louise Duncan, who turned pro in July last year, and sits at
four-under-par for the championship, and one-under-par for her second round through 15 holes.
Duncan, who won the 2021 Women’s Amateur Championship, is looking for her first win as a
professional.

Solheim Cup hero and fellow Spaniard Carlota Ciganda took advantage of the calm morning
conditions in Florida by carding a three-under-par 69 in a round which included five birdies, to finish
the day tied-second place behind compatriot and overnight leader Nuria Iturrioz. On her round,
Ciganda said: “This morning I thought it was going to be a little easier, a little less windy than yesterday. I hit some good shots, but to be honest my putting was great. I made some good up-and-
downs and some good putts for birdie, so that was the key”.

American Lindsey Weaver-Wright was another player to improve on Friday’s score, improving by four
shots, thanks to a three-under-par 69, despite playing 20 holes today after completing her first round
early this morning. On her round, Weaver-Wright recognised the task at hand and the importance of
playing with a conservative approach on a challenging day in Florida: “I played pretty steady and
other than that, I made a couple of putts. These greens are kind of tricky and with the wind, it can get
really tough out there, especially down the final stretch. So, I was just happy to par those holes and
then finish under-par”. Weaver-Wright heads into the final day of the Aramco Team Series as the leading American in the field, with home favourite Lexi Thompson sitting well in the mix at level par for the tournament after 36-holes, tied-9th for the tournament, and five shots behind the overnight leader Iturrioz.

On the conditions this week, Thompson said: “There's not really stretch of holes where you're like, ‘I can get
some birdies here’. Because, I mean, if it's tough drives or tough iron shots coming in, and then the
greens are super tricky to read, so you can never really let your foot off the brake. “I'm proud of how I've gotten through the round and how much work I put into it, and that's all I can do. And it's been good the last few days with my family, and hopefully I finish strong and I play well tomorrow”.

Off the course, fans attending the Aramco Team Series were treated to an exhibition hosted by World
Long Drive champion Kyle Berkshire who gave tournament-goers some insights and displayed his prodigious length off the tee, concluding the clinic with a 408-yard drive in-front of a wowed audience.

World number three Lydia Ko also made-up ground on moving day, carding a two-under-par round of
70 in diminishing light, for a 36-hole total of one-under-par, three shots off the leader Iturrioz heading into the final day of the Aramco Team Series Florida. Ko had this to say after her round: “I made a few clutch par putts and a few good birdies and I was hoping for a few more to keep the momentum going on the back-nine, but it’s tricky and windy. As the wind picks up, the course is getting dryer and the greens are getting faster, so I knew it was going to be difficult”. “It would be really cool winning in my home state in Florida. I’m going to focus on my game and keeping the goods being good, and work on things that need to be a little bit better and we’ll see what happens at the end of tomorrow”.

Lydia Ko is searching for her maiden victory in the Aramco Team Series and to join her teammates in
the Aramco Team Series winner’s club. Marianne Skarpnord previously won the individual title at the
2021 Aramco Team Series London, and Tereza Melecká, who is looking to add a third team title in the
series to her collection, after picking up victories in Spain and Saudi Arabia last year.

Aside from the drama of the individual championship, it was all to play for in the team event
featuring an everchanging leader board throughout the day. ‘Team Alexander’ finished the day at 23-
under-par, leading in the clubhouse overnight. However, they have a long wait to see the final
results, as ‘Team Roussin’, captained by Pauline Roussin lead the team championship at 28-under-par
through 14 holes before darkness suspended play on Saturday.
