New York venue confirmed for historic first Ladies European Tour event in the USA

New York’s Glen Oaks Club has been officially announced as the next location for the new Aramco Team Series on the Ladies European Tour (LET) from October 14-16.

The stunning Glen Oaks layout is situated in the village Old Westbury, on the North Shore of Long Island. Free tickets will be available from August 30^th for this historic first LET event via the Aramco Team Series website.

The Aramco Team Series – New York marks the third event of the four-tournament series and follows successful events in London (UK) and earlier this month in Sotogrande (Spain) which saw USA’s Alison Lee win the individual prize for her maiden victory as a professional.

The Aramco Team Series (ATS) has so far attracted big American names such as Lexi Thompson, who played in London, as well as Paula Creamer and Lizette Salas, who both teed it up in Sotogrande. They have been joined by the biggest stars from the LET such as Emily Kristine Pedersen, Georgia Hall, Charley Hull and 2021 AIG Women’s British Open winner Anna Nordqvist.

The ATS is a brand-new concept and the first team event series on any professional tour – with the LET’s best competing for the best team and individual’s prizes.  

The innovative $1 million Aramco-backed event will see teams battle it out for the $800,000 prize fund, along with $200,000 purse for the leading individual scores over the weekend, as well as World Ranking and Race to Costa del Sol – LET’s season-long competition to crown Europe’s leading lady golfer – points. The latter is currently led by Aramco Team Series – London runner up Atthaya Thitikul, from Thailand.

Using an ‘NFL-style’ draft system, 36 selected captains will again pick their first player, before being randomly allocated a third professional teammate.

The fourth member of each team is an amateur golfer – a position open to all golfers in the USA for the Aramco Team Series – New York through the tournament’s ‘Team Up’ competition.

That means it could fall to an amateur golfer to make a vital contribution on the course and secure prize money for the professional players, a feat unique to world golf.

Glen Oaks has been described as the "The Augusta National of the North" for its immaculate conditioning. In recent years it’s hosted The Northern Trust, the first round of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs.

These events have also been a chance to help leave an impact on the local community to get more girls into golf and sport which we’ll continue in New York.”
